
Ar. Prof.Suja Kumari L B.Arch, M.Arch (Housing)
Academician with 25 years of teaching experience in Architecture for undergraduate and graduate programs. Holds B Arch with first class from College of Engineering, Trivandrum ,M Arch with second rank in Housing from Hindustan University Chennai. Other work experiences include 12 years in the industry as Junior and Senior Architect in leading Architecture firms in Trivandrum (1985-1987)Vadodara (1989 Jan-June) Mumbai (1989-2001)and Trivandrum(1993-2000). Former Associate Professor at Department of Architecture, Govt. College of Engineering, (CET) Trivandrum, with 19 years of Teaching Experience. An eminent professor who has extended as an Academician for Housing as well as Architecture programmes both in the case of undergraduate and graduate programs. Retired from the Department of Architecture College of Engineering Trivandrum on 31st March 2019 and joined as Professor in MCAP (Marian College of Architecture and Planning) in July 2019 and presently serving as Principal in MCAP from 17th November 2022. Teaching interests include subjects like Housing,Traditional Architecture,Sustainable Architecture etc. Research interests include documentation of heritage structures,Community Housing and Creative approaches in Teaching. .

● Prof. Suja Kumari a was a member of the team for preparation of Master Plan of Nilakkal Base Camp for High Power Committee (HPC) Sabarimala during 2017-2019 and Member of the team for the preparation of Handouts for Heritage awareness for Town Planning Department in the year 2018-2019. ● She has co-authored the book “Glimpses of Heritage-City of Thiruvananthapuram, for Indian Institute of Architects Trivandrum Centre, 2011, along with Dr. Binumol Tom. ● She is chosen as a reviewer for AMPS (Architecture, Media, Politics, Society. ● Editor of the book ELSYIAN-Documentation of churches Travancore Vol 1 published by Copal Publishers New Delhi ● Organising committee member for the first International Research Conference Anweshan organised by IIA National chapter from 27th to 29th August 2024 at Marian college of Architecture and Planning Trivandrum.
